Introduction
Every season has its rhythm, and fall naturally calls us to let go. As the leaves drop, we’re reminded that clearing clutter isn’t only about cleaning our homes. It’s also about releasing the thoughts, emotions, and energy that make it harder to feel light and alive.
This is what I was reflecting on when I pulled the card Clearing Clutter: Renewing Your Life. It’s such a perfect message for this time of year.
Clearing Physical, Mental, and Emotional Clutter
We often think of clutter as something physical, but it lives in many layers. There’s the stuff in our closets and drawers, but there’s also the buildup of unprocessed feelings, looping thoughts, and old stories that no longer fit.
When life feels noisy or distracting, even small acts of clearing can bring peace. Just like washing a window, regular inner cleaning lets more light in. It helps us see clearly again.
Keeping Your Inner Space Clean
If we wait too long to clear out the clutter, the buildup becomes harder to remove. The same is true for our minds and hearts. A gentle, regular self-cleaning helps us stay open and connected.
It doesn’t have to be a big event. Think of it as tidying up your spirit. Some things need attention every day, others only once in a while. The key is to notice when things start to feel heavy or cloudy and give yourself permission to reset.
How the Stars Reflect Our Inner Energy
Right now, the planet Uranus is in Gemini, which brings a lot of electrical and mental energy. You might feel more ideas, more stimulation, and maybe even a bit of restlessness. With Pluto moving into Aquarius, that energy is magnified.
This combination can spark creativity, but it can also feel like too much all at once. When that happens, it helps to pause, breathe, and make space for what really matters. Just like clearing a room, clearing your mind creates room for inspiration to flow.
Simple Ways to Start Clearing
You don’t have to do it all at once. Imagine sorting your thoughts and emotions the same way you would a messy room.
Keep what brings you joy or clarity.
Let go of what drains or confuses you.
Set aside what you’re not ready to decide on yet.
Even small steps make a difference. Every bit of clearing helps you breathe easier and feel lighter.
Cleansing Your Energy
Clearing clutter isn’t just physical or emotional. Our energy needs care too. One of my favorite ways to do this is through chakra cleansing. You can use sound, crystals, or even your intention to bring your energy centers into balance.
Another way is smoke cleansing. I often use cedar, juniper, or lavender—plants that grow naturally around us. Their scent clears the air and helps calm the mind. You can make your own bundles and create a gentle ritual that feels grounding and sacred.
Creating a Space for Self-Cherishing
In my office, I’ve made a small altar. It holds a few meaningful items, including a bundle I made myself and a card that says “self-cherishing.” This simple space reminds me to slow down and care for myself.
When we clear clutter, we make room to love ourselves better. It’s a quiet but powerful act of renewal.
Listening to the Seasons
Nature gives us cues for when to cleanse and reset. In the fall, the leaves teach us about letting go. In spring, the new buds remind us of fresh beginnings. When we pay attention, we know exactly when it’s time to release and when it’s time to invite in the new.
